Modernizing the functional experience of the Town Gas website that provided value to all who interact with it was no easy task.

The ask

Town Gas Hong Kong is one of the oldest listed companies in Hong Kong, it has over a 150 years’ experience in providing energy services to residents. They came to us to overhaul their digital experience in Hong Kong, this would allow customers of the digital age to seamlessly interact with services and offerings. Beyond the functional improvements they also wanted to promote their social and sustainable responsibilities, engage with potential employees through rewarding career opportunities and help to celebrate the rich history that Town Gas has created.

The Idea

Modernizing the functional experience of the Town Gas website that provided value to all who interact with it was no easy task. We began with looking at a complete UX overhaul that broke down the different segmentation of the website into the potential interests by users.

Each section was designed with a specific in user in mind. Weather they wanted to make a meter reading, manage their account, learn about the history, discover green/sustainability initiatives or talk to a virtual assistant, the website was structured so each user could easily navigate and get the relevant information depending on what they were looking for.

To help with user navigation beyond the structure we also built a virtual chatbot to answer simple questions by understanding the user context and intent through conversations.
